Fragments of Nordic Nature

Tranquility
Hanko, Finland

In a few hours my photo exhibition, Fragments of Nordic Nature, will open in Osteria Pillonetto in Sernaglia (TV). As the name implies the photos will give you a glimpse of the very diverse nature in two of the Nordic countries - Finland and Iceland. Of 19 photos in all, 10 are taken in Finland, most of which are from my beautiful hometown Hanko.

For me photography is about stopping. Taking a break from a somewhat hectic life so to speak. I enjoy finding beauty in weather that most people would call rubbish. Sitting on a cliff by the sea, a rainy and windy day, with my camera is what I would call quality of life. Therefore the majority of the photos in this exhibition are bluish seascapes and many have moody skies. But there is also room for one or two sunsets, a dancing Aurora and a moss covered lava field.

It would be great if you’d pop in at some point between today and November 14th. Enjoy a Spritz by Silmava and have a look at my photos. Welcome!
